I live directly across the street from this building. I spotted it for a renovation update for a
TZAIMS LUKSUS
HAUTE COUTURE
RETAIL
●
It took almost 7 years to get it this far.
●
In Burma the Military government owns all the land and many classic buildings like this, but a foreigner like me cannot buy land or a building. Only my registered company with DICA can a I or non Burmese citizen, buy, but can lease, but needs a Burmese partner whose nane is on lease and purchase.
●
My partner is the 25 year old
ZAY AR AUNG.
●
He owns 65% of my company
TZAIMS LUKSUS, LTD
YANGON
●
in Burma as acting
PRESIDENT
●
I own 35% of my company
in Burma as acting
CHAIRMAN
&
TREASURER
●
The Burmese government in power since 1948
Either sells use of land or gives use to someone they believe worthy, for not only life but for life of their future generations.
●
So the building in Zayar's name gives him use forever.
●
THERE ARE NO PROPERTY TAXES IN MYANMAR
BURMA
●
Aung San Suu Kyi
when in government was selling these classics to foreign investors who were demolishing them and building glass and steel high rises.
●
General Aung Minn Hlaing stopped her permanently.
●
I was very happy he did. She was leading the youth to their destruction.
●
General Hlaing's government also pays for the renovation and restoration exactly as the occupant desires.
●
This is how I wanted it!
●
i want the whole building eventually when resident tenents nor renew their year long lease agreement that are paid 12 months in advance of occupation as apI have to do.!
●
It might look as though I get a lot of money for this but I get absolutely nothing but I have to furnish it and create inventory for it which is manufactured by local dress makers and tailors.
●
Take note of the construction workers.
No hard hats, no shoes, ordinary clothes, as natural as they want to be.
●
Why?
●
Becsuse they are ordinary men who do not care for riches and though have have no insurance are capable, strong and focased on eachvstep they take, or what you call cost of living.
They have families, sons and daughtersb brothers in the police and Tatmadaw military, free housing and free farms tax free and all they have to do is use it wisely and earn money.
●Of course these men are also paid well by the Military Democratic Government.
●
How do you see yourself in comparrison
in the USA?
●
I have six more classic buildings chosen for renovation and restoration in Rangoon.
●
l Bringing high fashion and art galleries to a city that needs, appreciates and supports it.
●
Commercial companies from the US are banned in Myanmar as are news reporters and journalistd because they publish negative and false information to western countries.
●
Thank you for reading.
● My tax situation in Vermont drew me away from this for over 5 years.
●
Now Bennington, Vermont and the USA are closed issues for me with taxes being paid..
●
Back to work!
-●
One more important point that will be covered in an expanded post.
●
I didn't come to Myanmar to be supported by the country. I came to support the country.
●
How?
Well to create jobs for the people and create fabrics and fashion for global export distribution, yes a flag ship boutique but not to rip the people off but provide familiar marketing and sales to western VIP visitors.
□
I explained this in an earlier post, but my work effort is different than most. I believe in cottage industry, not assembly line factories. I don't corral people who need instruction, I gather people who know what they are doing, and not doing nothing but bossing others.
●
That is what I went to Bennington to do.
Find capable textile workers and give them designs and let them figure it out.
I found them in Bennington and offered them, seriously, profit sharing.
●
The wealthy financiers didn't like me doing that and brought in their hench men to chop us down and take over.
●
They found out they couldn't take over me.
●
They gave me nothing after promising on a gentleman's agreement and then after three years breaking it.
●
I walked out taking only my name so they couldn't trade under it.
●
I could have made my company a $100. billion operation in Bennington. Instead they trashed it, my mill. Just as they are trashing my house now yet expecting me to
yay high taxes and sewer bills not even using the sewers or living there.
●
That is the USA and its people,
●
That isn't Myanmar and its people.
●
OR ME!
