Tzaims found the estate one early misty morning with a for sale sign nailed to a tree. He was traveling through Vermont to New Hampshire on a 1963 Labor day weekend. It struck his soul since he had a recurring dream when a child of this very property. Dark gabled mansion, long circular drive, old trees and him burning leaves in the gravel drive on Halloween afternoon. Same dream over and over.
●
He immediately called the number and lease/purchased the mansion that same weekend and moved in on 1 October 1963, burning leaves on the gravel drive on Halloween.
●
It turned out that his mother's great aunt's youngest son, her cousin, built it in 1901.

Tzaims wanted one built before 1850 suitable to play Bach and Handel and found this Stevens Tracker. He got two trucks and took his fabric mill hands to move it and lift it in peices, all unscrewed and unpegged, through an attic window where he reessembled it himself one Labor day weekend, refinished and restored it as seen today.

Tutored by his Princely father, Ivan Yusupovitch,
a master of caligraphy,
in his early years until 5 years old then by his father's examples he was educated under the strict guidelines to be a king, emperor, of Nobless Oblige.
●
Tzaims' father didn't believe in private or public schools nor US universities. The exception being Oxford University with private tutors.
●
In the United States he had to allow his sons to attend public schools but tutored them up to their 6th year in Reading, wrting, arithmatic and logic based on Princely values and scholarship so they were advanced above all other students in their US schools..
Being educated as such didn't mean his sons would be kings or Czars or such since that wasn't the real purpose of being of princely mental stature but to be a leader with humanitarian and compassionate personal decorum.
Of course by being born in the US and growing up there his sons would be forever alienated from ordinary and regular Americans. Yet educated and safe from Americans or being controlled by them.

●
Harper"s Bazaar claims in their recent 15 September 2021 magazine issue gossip colume everything false about him. Just vicious made up ideas based on their own limited mentality adding their unauthorized psychotic opinions, digging up a few private family tragedies . How could the debased fashion editors in NYC ever realize who and what Tzaims is?
●
Their only purpose as fashion editors, and writers, is to describe the creative work achieved, and not to smear loose gossip into the internet. No wonder reporters are jailed and banned by the Myanmar military government realizing that western media is corrupt and don't spread truth but create chaotic mis-information. Something totally out of control with US media! Chief NYC Editor of Harper's Bazaar, Samira Nast (Nasty), will pay dearly for the damages she created for Tzaims. He knows how God will punisher her and her writer! God Willing!
AMEN
●
His parties in his country mansion were not wild. They were wine and cheese parties, with grapes and French Bagettes as one would experience at the receptions of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
●
Had you attended the high art academies like PAFA, or like Tzaims, the Royal Art Academy in London, art academies in Florence, Venice, Athens and the Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing at Oxford then you would know how sophistocated his open house parties in Old Bennington were.

Why did Tzaims leave the mansion after living there for 60 years that his mother's family built in 1901?
●
After 60 years living there with his younger brother Gene (John), the mansion in 2020 was deteriorating rapidly. Local contractors and restorationists charged so much and were so negative they couldn't be trusted with such a valuable historic vintage property and when his brother died in 2013 Tzaims reached his 81st birthday.
●
Winters were brutal with out central heat and no running water and made life impossible. Everyone he knew, as well as his entire family, had died leaving him alone among hateful new lower class though wealthy new corrupt neighbors, and irresponsible law enforcement had radically changed making the free and independent life he lived from 1932 an unpredictable life for a famous elderly man living alone and very life threatening with suspicious police that now could arrest anyone just on their personal suspicians with no evidence presented in court. The US was no longer a safe place to live freely and honestly!.
●
After his brother's death his only income was a small amount of social securty in around $800.00 a month, hardly enough for food and to pay $12,000 annual property, that kept being raised, he had great credit card debt to pay them.
Yet he didn't plan leaving but continued to fight back surviving each time and winning in court since neighbors and police were arresting him but revealed as lieing against him.
●
Never the less Tzaims had to change his life and perhaps moving to Southeast Asia was reasonable with Burma being his first choice for many reasons but principally because it was primarily Theravada Buddhist and he had experience there when 9 to 13 years old when his older 19 year old brother Raymond John was stationed in Rangoon serving in the US Army Air Corps during WWII.

After 28 days and creating a Myanmar company, Tzaims intended to return to his estate in Old Bennington to sort out and organize the excess amount collected over his lifetime, but Covid locked him down in Rangoon/Yangon and further for 5 years with then a change in Myanmar government in 2021, preventing any traveling in or out of the country. Receiving year long visas and then Business visas through his Myanmar company, Tzaims Luksus, LTD, and finding a young 23 year old Burmese man, Zay Yar Aung, he was able to pass on his legacy and the military government allowed him permanent residence.
●
He was/is loyal to the US, acting diplomatically and representing the best example of what a US Citizen could be, as he was trained in the US Navy from 1952 until 1960. As a result he is generally admired and respected by the Burmese people who care for him and protect him, where as in the US he was disrespected and threaten
by the lower mentality of new rich American neighbors and harrassed by local police.
Even though a nonorably discharged US Navy veteran and long time US Citizenship and with the US Government being as hostile as it is to the country of Myanmar, the Burmese people, and the very intelligent and protective military democratic government embraced him.
●
Tzaims has kept his US Citizenship and Vermont permanent residence and never became an ex patriot!
●
Tzaims renewed his US passport in 2024 VALID to 2033 when he reaches his 101st birthday. He just might have to renew it again in 2033 until 2043, until his 111th birthday, considering his physical and mental health is thus far excellent in his long life.

Each video revealed vandalisn, breakage, theft of valuable personal heirlooms and collections as well as great weather damage which left him speechless as to know what to do.
●
What he planned saving and restoring of his mansion and collections no longer was possible or viable. His neighbors who before he left, and for decades earlier, socially black listed him, though were low class new wealth, played up detrimental gossip about him in an effort to destroy his public image. Why? Envy, jealosy, inferiority?.. to Tzaims Princely and honest demeanor and noble ethics, or that he was a member of two Royal Families of Great Britain and Imperial Russia and Royally elected as a FRSA.

Together with the looting and robberies he decided to let everything he left remain as it was or close to as it was when he left for Burma where it is warm year round and at 93 now this is more important than being in unfriendly Vermont.
●
●
Taxes are paid and continually will be paid and therefore what he left is preserved as a Vermont Historic Heritage Estate dating from 1901 with William BULL Architect and Martha Brooks Brown (Hutchenson) Garden and landscape Designer.
●
●
Historic Heritage properties like Buckthorne Hall plus his famous interior design improvements, decor and collection surpass Billions of USD value and though he endeavored to create a house museum he was blocked by the Village Trustee millionaires who wanted only to drive Tzaims out, which in fact they failed, since he decided to leave before they could, and not only do they wish to demolish the historic mansion he strived to preserve but develope the land into small parcels to build phoney colonial type houses for the lower and middle class like them.
●
●
In the meantime nature and weather with fungae is permeating the mansion making it deadly for looters to enter even masked.

●
When Tzaims left breifly for Burma his mansion contained the entire heritage heirlooms of both his English-American mothers family, his Father's Imperial Russian family heirlooms plus his 88 year collectioms and art works.
●
This lifelong Historic family treasure and Vermont Heritage property is being reduced to nothing due to an irresponsible Vermont Historic Preservatiom organization, the Bennington Town government and the Village of Old Bennington Trustees.
●
If these governing and taxation people cannot be trusted with security after paying over 60 years in exhorbitant property taxes, then how by continuing to pay property taxes will it save and preserve a loyal US veteran's family home and wealth?

The pictures and the story behind them are great to read. The mansion in its heyday was amazing. What happened to the antique lights? Where the Mercedes-Benz currently resides nothing is there.
ReplyDeleteI had the honor and pleasure of meeting you as you tended to thr gates of your mansion. Must have been shortly before you left for Myanmar. Your life is fascinating and your home is beautiful even in it's ramshackle state. Love to see the inside one day as I am a great collector of books and art. Should I ever find myself in Rangoon I will certainly patronize your men's boutique. I hope my photography of your mansion did not lead to the lootings and intrusions that occurred.
